This was a great piece. Add on the fact that the mistreatment of women was thrown around as “gotcha” moments in diss tracks from BOTH artists and how now, a month afterwards, no real action has been made to further confirm if this is true/help out the women that could be victims.
Thank you for reading! Yea, the "gotcha" moments are equal parts disappointing and unsurprising to me. This has been a trend in rap beef since the days of Biggie/Tupac and Nas/Jay-Z. The boy rappers really got to work on evolving as humans.
I mean, where are Megan's props? I'm pretty sure she was the one who kicked off the entire beef with Hiss, but all anyone can talk about is Kendrick... Anyhow, you've done your research on this! Some well-formed and well-organized opinions! (and it's interesting that you've watched Portrait of a Lady, cuz I've also been meaning to check it out. might have to as well, after seeing your review).
Thank you! Still holding out. Honestly, I'm just going to get the highlights on next week's episode of The Read. My streams are precious right now lol.
He really didn’t say anything about Drake we haven’t heard before but I suppose people are caught up in how he approached it lyrically, and also the probably respect it more because he’s heralded as one of the best MCs in his generation. Which is fair but it should hold more weight coming from Meg because he actually disrespected her, unlike Kendrick. Who knows what’s been going on behind the scenes though.
Nah you got it, this is the one ☝🏽

a+ analysis
So good
Everything you said! Also “R&B(?)” made me chuckle. I kept wondering why more people weren’t talking about HISS — to me it was impeccable.
ALL the credit to Megan for exposing that weird man in the first place! also, i'm so excited to check out the Nasty mashup 🔥

Damn -- this was just incredible
I loved this so freaking much.
I’m curious if you’ve listened to 6:16 in LA yet or if you’re still holding out.?
Thank you! Still holding out. Honestly, I'm just going to get the highlights on next week's episode of The Read. My streams are precious right now lol.
As an Aries sun, with a mars in Aries, I knew the take was about to be delicious after the first paragraph! You said it all!
Whew! How you holding up? I’m an Aries sun but not Mars and I’ve been drainedddd lol
All I could think after listening to "Euphoria" was all this has been said on "HISS"!
